Sunday –
This week’s long run called for 6 miles. Let me start by saying—no matter the distance, it’s always hard. So yep, it still felt hard. I always wonder why it doesn’t get easier.
When I woke up and checked the weather, it said there was going to be thunder and lightning within 30 minutes. I decided to wait it out, then went after the storm (and before the next one started). Seems like it’s been storming a lot this month. So today, I was shooting for between the storms.
With the longer distances taking me so long, a 6-mile run seems short… but it’s really not. I did 30 minutes at a 7:3 run/walk, then switched to 8:2 for 30 minutes. And just like that, the run was almost over. I finished strong.
These storms are definitely messing up my timing. LOL. But staying safe is way more important.
Monday –
Gym time. Oh boy—all legs today. It was a hard but good workout. My legs feel great! The focus was on hamstrings and calves—exactly what I need to help with running.
Tuesday –
Woke up to a heavy downpour. The weather app said it was going to last for the next two-plus hours, so I didn’t run today. This rain is really messing with the schedule.
Wednesday –
Hit up run club and walked again. Lots of laughs, though.
Thursday –
Okay… today was a bit rough getting started. But I got up knowing I’d feel amazing afterward—and of course, I did. I ran 3 miles at about a 13-minute pace using run/walk intervals.
It’s Sept. 11, and the day just feels sad.
Friday –
Gym day. I went easy since it was mostly shoulder work. Still had fun and feel like I got in a decent workout.
Saturday –
Rest Day
Thoughts –
Things don’t always go as planned, and that’s okay
.Also… I am so ready for a cool down.
