Monday

It was chest day at the gym. My upper body isn’t super strong yet—I’m curious if it can be. I did put in the work. Didn’t get everything completed, but that’s normal for me. I try to focus on form and putting in quality—not high numbers or speed. I did most of the exercises to failure though, so I feel like it was a productive workout.

Tuesday

Today I woke up still very tired. Almost talked myself into just going back to bed. I actually woke up before my alarm, and it would’ve been so easy to reset it and sleep in...

Here’s where I told myself: You can just do a walk today, but you can’t go back to bed.

By the time I reached the first half mile, I was ready to run. This morning turned into a walk-run: walking half a mile, then running half a mile. My watch clocked it as a walk—but I know I ran today. And it feels like a win.

I know I put in the work. Right now, I’m just so grateful for what I can do—and that I didn’t give in and stay in bed.

Wednesday

6:00 p.m. Bayshore Run Club field trip to Lululemon!

We started with a 35-minute run (well, at least for me it was 35 minutes). It was like 100°—okay, maybe not really, but it felt like it. It was in the 90s and just super hot.

At the halfway point, I stopped at the water fountain and threw some water on myself. I had pushed the first mile just to see how fast I could go, and on the way back I did a run-walk the rest of the way.

After the run, we had yoga—which gave us a great cooldown and stretch. We ended with a sound bath. If you’ve never experienced one, they’re so cool. I absolutely love the vibrations from the sounds. It’s mentally relaxing, and I’ve never done one at the end of a long day before. I had no idea how energized I’d feel after. It was actually hard to go to bed—I just laid there trying to at least rest.

Then a lightning storm started, so sleep was extra tough. But I’m so glad I went—I had a lot of fun.

Thursday

Made this the rest day.

Friday

Gym Day! Today, without even thinking about it, I just added more weight to everything I did—and it was great!

I’m really feeling like I’m getting stronger. This time, I got everything on the to-do list done—except for the last station, where I only finished the first half. But I definitely did a great job burning out the muscle I was working on.

So—totally a success today!

Saturday

Rest Day!

Sunday

Long run today is 4 miles—not really a long run compared to last week, but I’m following the plan I set up for myself.

It is super hot out right now. Florida in the summer is no joke. No matter how far I’m going, I’m bringing water and electrolytes. I’m also trying to stay hydrated throughout the week—not just with water, but with electrolytes too.

Started the run at 6:30 a.m. to beat the heat. The sun comes up early in the summer, and it’s hot all the time. It could already be 80° at 5:00 a.m.

Sunrise is my favorite part of the day—today’s was beautiful but quick. I wish it lasted a bit longer.

I like to walk a few miles after my run. Today I walked 1.25 miles.

The mosquitoes are out big time right now—this is one of the worst summers for them we’ve had in a long time. I had to run a bit during my cooldown walk just so they couldn’t bite me.

I usually don’t have a problem with mosquitoes, but this year is different. They are loving me!

Thoughts ~

It was a fun week.

I pushed at the gym with weights.

I had a run field trip.

I gave social media a break from my running videos until the long run.
